Hello, and welcome to my site. My name is Maeghan and I’m an aspiring musician. I started playing piano at the age of 5, and a few years later I got my first “keyboard”, a Casio SK1.
In my early twenties I decided that music was the “end all be all” in life so I pursued studying classical piano and I purchased my a Macintosh G4 Mirrored Door along with emagic’s “EMI 6|2m Gold Production Kit”.
It was while I was studying classical piano at Loyola College in Maryland, now called Loyola University, that I met a friend for life, Anthony Ianiro. At the time he lived in Philadelphia where he was a part of a rising Indie Rock scene. I choose to drop out of my studies at Loyola to move to Philadelphia.
Since 2005, I have emersed myself in learning Logic and programming analog synthesizers. In the Fall of 2005, I purchased my first analog synth, the Minimoog Voyager. The Voyager’s interface was quite intimidating to me at the time, not knowing anything about subtractive synthesis, so it wasn’t until I purchased a prophet~600 that I truly became addicted to knobs, oscillators, amplifiers, and filters.
I’ve taken the approach that rather than rely on other people to record, or even play with, I decided to learn enough and get the equipment I would need so that I could be self-sufficient in producing my own music. If it so happens that other people come along then great. I currently play with one other person, a bass player, who happens to be my husband.
My objective is to record the music that is within me. I hope someday I will be onstage and not just in my home studio. I believe that music is the language of the universe. I believe that music keeps this world turning. I believe that music can change people. I believe that music can express that which words can not tell. I believe that if you listen to music with an open mind, you might find out there is more to life that meets the eye. I believe that everything happens for a reason.
